City Museum – Explore History

The three best museums in Bhaktapur have a combined ticket. For the price of 100 NRS you can visit these museums: National Art Gallery, The Woodcarving Museum and The Brass & Bronze Museum. The first museum can be found near the ‘Soon Dhoka’ (Golden Gate) at the Bhaktapur Durbar Square you can find this museum. It holds traditional paintings of Nepal and medieval art in wood, stone and metal. In the woodcarving museum you can see all the woodcarving specialties in Bhaktapur. They also have the famous Peacock window. The museum is located at the Dattatraya Square. The Brass & Bronze Museum lies on the opposite of the Woodcarving museum. It shows all the brass and bronze metal products and arts that were used by the Newari culture.
